Samsung launches the Galaxy Watch Ultra 2 in select markets, presenting it as an update to the original Galaxy Watch Ultra from about two years earlier. Multiple outlets describe the Ultra 2 as slimmer and lighter, with an updated case design aimed at improving day-to-day wear while retaining a rugged focus. The watch includes a large, bright 1.52-inch AMOLED/Super AMOLED display, positioned as the brightest option on a Galaxy watch line. Samsung also equips the Ultra 2 with a larger battery, with reporting citing an 800mAh capacity, compared with the earlier model’s 590mAh.
On the performance side, sources agree the Ultra 2 uses Qualcomm’s penta-core Snapdragon Wear Elite chipset built on a 3nm process, replacing Samsung’s own Exynos W-series approach. Outlets also point to improved durability and fitness/health additions, including AI-powered health features. Samsung lists multiple strap options for the Ultra 2, including Marine Band, PeakForm Band, Trail Band, Sports Band, Misty Band, and Fabric Band. The Ultra 2 is launched alongside the Galaxy Watch 9 during Samsung’s Galaxy Unpacked in London.
