Akhilesh Reddy, a US offspinner, is banned from all cricket for eight years after an ICC Anti-Corruption Tribunal found him guilty of breaching three counts of the ICC Anti-Corruption Code. The offences are linked to the 2025 Abu Dhabi T10 tournament, where the ICC acted as the Designated Anti-Corruption Official on behalf of the Emirates Cricket Board. Multiple reports say the tribunal’s findings include attempts to influence a match by trying to get a teammate to deliberately concede extra runs, encouraging the teammate to engage in corrupt conduct, and obstructing the investigation. According to the accounts, Reddy admitted deleting WhatsApp messages and call logs exchanged with the teammate after an approach in the team hotel on November 19, 2025, ahead of the tournament’s opening match, but the tribunal rejected his explanation that the deletions were routine “data hygiene,” concluding he intentionally destroyed evidence relevant to the probe. The suspension is backdated to November 21, 2025, when Reddy was first provisionally suspended. The tribunal is reported as being made up of three members.
