Google is rolling out an update to its iOS “Google Health” app (previously the Fitbit app) that lets Fitbit and other Google Health-collected data sync into Apple Health. Multiple outlets report that the change comes with version 5.05, which adds a direct connection to Apple Health for previously Google Health–only or one-way integrations.

Before this update, Apple Health users could send data into Google Health, but Google Health could not write data back to Apple’s Health app. With the new release, users can link Apple Health from within Google Health—by going to the profile icon and using the “Partner apps” (or similarly named) connection options—and enable syncing.

According to the reports, the synced information includes workout history, steps, sleep, vitals such as heart-rate-related metrics, and other tracked wellness data. Some sources note that not every metric may transfer (for example, HRV may not be included). Separate features also described include sharing medical records via “Smart Health Links,” and improved sharing for iPhone users as part of the broader Apple Health integration.
