Multiple outlets, citing Reuters and other sources familiar with the data, report that the United States has sharply depleted its stockpile of long-range, precision munitions following about five months of military operations against Iran. The reports say the U.S. Army has used “virtually all” of its highly accurate long-range surface-to-surface missiles, raising concerns about readiness for potential future conflicts.
The weapons identified include ATACMS (Army Tactical Missile Systems) and PrSM (Precision Strike Missiles). According to the sources, two of them say the U.S. has used “virtually all” of these Army munitions. Separate reporting within the same account says the U.S. has also drawn down its Tomahawk supply, with around half of the global Tomahawk stock used. One person with knowledge of the figures is also reported as saying U.S. Central Command used nearly all of its land-based missiles before the war began, and then had to replenish from other areas.
