Multiple reports say Apple is preparing for its September iPhone event and is asking some U.S. retail employees to travel to its Apple Park campus to assist with the in-person media gathering. Citing Bloomberg, outlets report that Apple runs an “Event Support Experience Program” lottery for eligible employees. Selected workers are expected to help organize guest lines, manage check-in, provide directions, greet attendees, and support security teams during the event.
The companies say Apple tells participants only that the event will occur during the first half of September, without naming a specific day. One outlet suggests likely dates of Tuesday, September 8 or Wednesday, September 9, noting that September 7 falls on Labor Day and that media often get a travel day.
Employees selected for Apple Park staffing are reported to have their travel and lodging covered by Apple. Eligibility rules also appear to exclude certain workers, including those who participated in earlier related events such as the Worldwide Developers Conference or the 2025 iPhone launch. One report says entries close on August 8, with notifications planned for August 17.
