Multiple outlets report that the initial matchup is the Boston Red Sox vs. New York Yankees, with Apple positioning the experience as immersive 3D video recorded in 8K with a 180-degree field of view. Apple says viewers see unique camera angles positioned as if they are on the field, and that on-screen information such as team lineups and stats appears during the games. The Verge adds that the broadcast includes commentary from analysts and reporters and uses live graphics anchored around the viewer’s space.
After live games end, replays and highlights are made available on demand in the Apple TV app for Vision Pro users. Reports also say the games are included with an Apple TV subscription at no additional cost in supported countries, and that during breaks there is a stadium view with Spatial Audio.
