Saber Interactive is responding to claims from a former lead writer that the company replaced human writing with ChatGPT for its upcoming driving game, “Rideshare Stimulator.” The writer, Stella Sacco, alleges she was removed from the project after saying she was “replaced…with ChatGPT.”
In response, Saber’s CEO Matthew Karch says neither Saber nor the game’s development partner, Unigine, has replaced any writers with AI. Saber acknowledges that it plans to use AI for dialogue, with Karch framing the use in terms of the game’s design, including that the number of passengers is effectively infinite.
Outlets also note a potential transparency gap: at the time of reporting, there is currently no clear AI disclosure on the game’s Steam page. The disagreement centers on whether any specific writing work was substituted by AI, while Saber positions its approach as augmenting dialogue rather than eliminating writers.
