Hansal Mehta’s upcoming SonyLIV series “Scam 2010” has released a first look featuring Siddharth Bodke in the lead role as businessman Subrata Roy. Multiple outlets report that the show focuses on Roy’s journey and that the series is being produced by Birla Studios and Applause Entertainment.
The series is based on the book “Sahara: the Untold Story” by Tamal Bandyopadhyay, and outlets describe it as exploring themes around ambition and influence, as well as Roy’s controversial public profile. The Hindu and other publications frame the project around Roy as the founder of the Sahara India Pariwar, while Times of India also positions it as the third instalment in the “Scam” franchise. Times of India further notes that Roy faced SEBI probes and died in 2023, while NDTV and The Hindu primarily emphasize the plot premise and casting for the first look reveal.
