Take-Two, the parent company of Rockstar Games, files subpoenas in US federal court to identify people behind leaked Grand Theft Auto VI gameplay and related media. The action targets service providers that could hold account and user information tied to the posting and sharing of clips online.
Multiple outlets report that the subpoenas seek records connected to Microsoft and Discord. Some coverage also includes references to account data such as OneDrive or Xbox-related information, as well as Discord user data, to “identify the users” involved. CNet and others add that a GitHub repository connected to the leak investigation is also in scope.
While the outlets differ slightly in how they describe the specific systems and the breadth of information requested, they broadly agree on the same sequence: further GTA VI leaks continue to appear online, Rockstar and Take-Two move through the courts, and court-ordered information requests are aimed at tracing the source of the leak to specific users. Reports also name a suspected leaker alias, “Cyberleak,” in connection with the subpoenas.
