India’s Commerce and Industry Minister Piyush Goyal leads what multiple outlets describe as the largest-ever Indian business delegation to Japan, arriving in Tokyo and visiting Japan from Aug. 24 to Aug. 27. The delegation includes more than 200 business representatives and meets Japanese executives as both countries seek to strengthen economic cooperation.
Reports say Goyal holds discussions with leading Japanese industrial conglomerates and business leaders in Tokyo, including meetings with top company leadership. The visit is expected to support momentum for bilateral trade and investment ties, with focus areas commonly cited across outlets including high-technology manufacturing, next-generation industries, semiconductors, and electronics. Mint also reports that Indian industry bodies, including FICCI, expect memorandums of understanding related to semiconductors and electronics to be signed during the trip.
