Police in Mumbai arrest actor and model Rohullah Mehdi in connection with an alleged drug case, and seize 28 grams of MD valued at about Rs 5.60 lakh, according to multiple reports. NDTV says police are investigating the alleged drug network and working to identify who Mehdi may have supplied drugs to.

The reports describe the case as linked to social media channels such as Snapchat and WhatsApp. Times of India and the Free Press Journal both say Mehdi is named as the main accused. The Free Press Journal adds that police receive information about the alleged narcotics network, lay a trap using a decoy customer, and arrest a person identified as Kasif during the alleged deal; Kasif’s questioning reportedly leads to Mehdi. Mehdi is later arrested outside a studio in Malad while shooting.

All sources say the investigation is ongoing. Times of India and the Free Press Journal report that Mehdi is remanded to five days in police custody after being produced before a court. The Free Press Journal also notes police are examining whether other people, potentially including those connected to the film industry, have any links to the network.
