Authorities investigate the deaths of five people found on a rural property outside Portland, Oregon, in what officials describe as a quintuple homicide. Investigators also report that several animals were found dead at the scene.
Multiple outlets say the suspected killer is also found dead after the discovery. NBC and other reports state that the suspect is found dead in a vehicle in Enumclaw, Washington, after fleeing from the Oregon area. The Washington Times likewise reports police say the man suspected of the killings took his own life after reaching Washington state.
Outlets differ mainly in phrasing and emphasis, with some describing the case as an investigation into a “mass homicide,” and others focusing on where the suspect is found and the investigative status. Several reports note that officials have not publicly detailed how the five people died, while police continue to piece together events leading up to the discovery.
