Champion jockey Dylan Browne McMonagle is taken to hospital after a fall during the opening race at Bellewstown on Tuesday, leading to the racing meeting being abandoned.
McMonagle is riding the Joseph O’Brien-trained filly Mosel when the pair are involved in the incident. One report says Mosel falls as they are mounting a challenge a furlong from home, after which McMonagle is unseated. Other accounts describe the filly slipping and unseating him. He is then transported to Drogheda Hospital for treatment.
