Multiple outlets report the DSS instructs its private counsel, Akinlolu Kehinde, to take steps to pause the matter so it does not continue during the election period.
The outlets link the decision to preparations for electioneering and Sowore’s ability to participate without court proceedings creating “hindrance.” One report says the DSS decision is expected to be formally communicated to the Federal High Court after it resumes normal sittings following its annual judicial vacation. The charges relate to alleged posts made by Sowore on X and Facebook, including describing President Bola Tinubu as a “criminal,” which the DSS previously sought to have him delete.
