Claudean Uamaki-Mu, a former My Kitchen Rules contestant, pleads guilty in court to two counts of cruelty to children under 16. Multiple outlets report the case proceeds with her being discharged of more serious charges after the plea.
According to reports, the prosecution previously alleged a range of offences, including 12 counts of rape and two counts of sexual assault, as well as assaults occasioning bodily harm. The Daily Mail and New Zealand’s Stuff, along with Australian outlets including The Age, Brisbane Times, and the Sydney Morning Herald, all say those more serious counts are not proceeded with following the guilty plea. The 7News report adds that two victims make statements describing the lasting impact of the alleged abuse.
