From October 1, 2026, domestic LPG consumers in India must complete Aadhaar Biometric Authentication (BAA) to book refills at the regulated Retail Selling Price (RSP) and receive the LPG subsidy.
Sources agree that the move affects how subsidised refills are delivered rather than whether households are physically stopped from receiving LPG. If a consumer chooses not to complete the biometric authentication, they can still receive cylinders, but they are not eligible for the subsidised refill price. Instead, they pay the prevailing market price.
Outlets also note that Aadhaar non-compliance does not lead to disconnection of LPG service. The key change is that subsidised refills are linked to successful BAA, while continued supply remains available without the subsidy.
