An electrocution incident near a Ganapati pandal in Mumbai’s Lalbaug area results in two deaths, including an eight-year-old, and leaves multiple others injured. The incident occurs at around 2:20 am on Dattaram Lad Marg in Kalachowki, near the Kalachowki Vibhag Sarvajanik Ustav Mandal.
According to reports, the incident is reported to the Mumbai Fire Brigade at 2:42 am, after which fire brigade personnel, police, BEST services, and civic officials are mobilised to the spot. Several injured people are taken to Masina Hospital in Byculla and Global Hospital in Parel. One child is declared brought dead at Masina Hospital, while others are treated. A later report says a second death occurs at Global Hospital.
