Multiple outlets report that Iranian officials, in connection with the UN General Assembly in New York, put forward a seven-day truce followed by the reopening of the Strait of Hormuz shipping channel. Trump dismissed the proposal and has publicly suggested the possibility of resuming full-scale air strikes against Iranian targets, while also telling Axios that negotiations are expected to restart.
