Samsung introduces the Galaxy Tab S12 Ultra and Galaxy Tab S12+, two Android tablets designed as upgrades in its premium tablet lineup. The companies also announce a new SmartTag 3 Bluetooth tracker. Samsung says the tablets will go on sale in select markets starting October 7, but pricing is not yet disclosed in the reports.
Across coverage, both tablets are powered by MediaTek’s Dimensity 9500 chipset and run Android 17-based One UI 9. The Ultra model differentiates itself with a larger display and additional performance-focused upgrades, including more RAM and storage and a larger battery. Times of India and NDTV add that the Ultra is very thin at about 5.1mm and that both devices carry an IP68 water- and dust-resistance rating.
Several features are highlighted by different outlets. Times of India notes a bundled S Pen and Adobe Photoshop pre-loaded on the tablets, describing it as a first for Android tablets. NDTV reports support for Galaxy AI features. Bloomberg focuses more on the overall launch pairing the tablets with SmartTag 3, which it describes as offering improved precision and longer-distance tracking than earlier models.
