Flydubai pilot Captain Smit Machchhar is publicly praised after he survives a mid-air cockpit attack and helps avert a major aviation incident. Reports say the attack occurs while the aircraft operates from Dubai to Tel Aviv, leaving the pilot seriously injured.
Multiple outlets say Salman Khan posts on social media praising Machchhar’s actions and saying he would be happy to fly with him, using the phrase “Well done bro.” NDTV and other reports describe the cockpit incident and note that Machchhar continues to resist despite his injuries. The flight is said to descend sharply before crew regain control and carry out an emergency landing.
Context from the reporting indicates the aircraft ultimately lands safely in Saudi Arabia, with passengers disembarking without injury. Times of India and other coverage also mention that celebrities including Shilpa Shetty and Jackie Shroff join in recognition of Machchhar’s bravery, while the pilot’s family in Rajkot expresses pride and says the community and nation are praying for his recovery.
