The Union Cabinet is expected to review and potentially approve a ₹10,000 crore SME Growth Fund, with multiple outlets citing the Cabinet meeting schedule. The fund is linked to proposals announced in the FY27 Budget by Union Finance Minister Nirmala Sitharaman and is designed to support eligible micro, small and medium enterprises (MSMEs), including firms facing financing constraints.

According to the reports, the SME Growth Fund is intended to provide equity support to selected enterprises that meet predefined eligibility criteria and show growth potential. Sources also indicate additional plans for the Self-Reliant India Fund, including a ₹2,000 crore top-up, alongside further allocations that would continue equity participation in MSMEs.

One outlet further highlights Budget measures aimed at improving MSME liquidity and financing. These include expanding and making the Trade Receivables Discounting System (TReDS) mandatory for transactions involving MSMEs with central public sector enterprises, integrating Government e-Marketplace with TReDS, and increasing credit guarantee coverage for invoice discounting, alongside plans related to securitising receivables. Another outlet also notes that Cabinet consideration may cover an Integrated Transport and Logistics Authority alongside the SME proposal.
