Joshua Kerry, 28, who is accused of murdering Ann Widdecombe, appears in court charged with preparing terrorist acts linked to Nigel Farage. Kerry is remanded in custody after appearing at Westminster Magistrates’ Court, where prosecutors set out allegations connected to an incident at Farage’s home in south London.
Prosecutors say Kerry allegedly travelled to Farage’s address in April 2025, after which damage was found to the front door frame, including a toolmark and a bottle containing lighter fluid left in the porch. Police previously investigated the incident as an attempted burglary but closed the case without arrests. Counter-terror police later reopened a related probe, and a further line of inquiry is now said to have been relevant but not previously pursued.
Alongside the Farage-related terror charge, Kerry also faces a separate count of murder over the death of Widdecombe, who died in July after being hit with a hammer at her home in Devon. Reporting across outlets emphasises that the terrorism allegation also involves online “reconnaissance” into prominent people and institutions, including identifying Farage’s home address, with the charge timeframe described as spanning May 31, 2024 to July 8, 2026.
