CNN, MSNBC (MS NOW) and Politico return to court seeking an extension of protections while they challenge President Donald Trump’s decision to revoke their White House press access. The outlets’ request comes as their legal fight over the ban continues.

According to multiple reports, the media organizations argue the revocation is unlawful retaliation for coverage they say the administration views as unfavorable. They also contend the White House justification—citing national security concerns—is not supported. Other outlets describe the move as part of what they characterize as a broader escalation in Trump’s pressure campaign against media coverage he dislikes.

The outlets are asking a federal judge to continue order(s) that preserve access or block enforcement of the ban during the case. The court proceedings will determine whether the protection is extended and how the challenge will proceed.
