Minimum wage earners in Calabarzon are set to receive wage increases of up to P45 per day starting October 26, after the Regional Tripartite Wages and Productivity Board (RTWPB 4A) approved a new wage order.
The updates are issued under Wage Order No. IVA-23 and are expected to cover more than 1.56 million minimum wage earners across the region. The wage board says the maximum daily increase of P45 would translate to an additional P1,170 per month for affected workers, based on standard monthly computation.
Outlets report that the amount workers receive will differ depending on their industry sector and the municipality classification within Calabarzon. The wage order takes effect on October 26, with the wage board citing its approval and announcement following its press release on October 10.
