WhatsApp is beginning to roll out a scheduled messaging feature on Android to a limited group of beta users, allowing messages to be prepared in advance and sent automatically at a chosen time. Reports based on WhatsApp beta builds say the option covers text and shared media such as photos and videos, and may also include links and other attachments.

Across outlets, details align that users can set delivery for a window that extends from short delays up to about two weeks after composing. The feature is described as working even when the app is closed and when the phone is offline at the scheduled time, with WhatsApp handling delivery in the background. There are also indications of an interface for scheduling—using a press-and-hold gesture on the send button or media picker—and a possible management view (such as a “Scheduled messages” section) to review or delete pending items.

In group chats, scheduled messages appear to follow membership rules set at the time of scheduling, with later joiners not seeing those scheduled items. All sources stress that availability is limited for now and not yet open to the general public.
