Guyana’s National Quality Infrastructure (NQI) project has reached completion, with the Guyana National Bureau of Standards (GNBS) reporting improved support for micro, small and medium-sized enterprises (MSMEs). The work focuses on strengthening testing, measurement and certification services so local businesses can meet recognised international requirements.
Both outlets link the project to support from the Inter-American Development Bank (IDB) and frame the results around capacity-building at GNBS. One outlet emphasises the practical impact for MSMEs, highlighting how enhanced services can improve their ability to qualify for international standards. The other focuses on the formal workshop held to review and communicate project outcomes, including gains related to laboratory accreditation and business competitiveness. The accounts differ mainly in emphasis—consumer-facing assistance for firms versus the institutional and workshop setting—while remaining aligned on the core theme of strengthened quality infrastructure through the IDB-backed initiative.
