“Nocturne” is presented as a twisty crime thriller in which Zazie Beetz plays an FBI agent who goes undercover to stop Stephen Graham’s enigmatic serial killer. Across reviews, the central draw is Graham’s performance as the antagonist, described in terms that emphasize menace and psychological complexity.
Outlets frame the story’s appeal differently. NME highlights the plot as a “very complex puzzle,” focusing on the undercover investigation and the thriller’s layered, twist-driven structure. The New York Post also emphasizes the serial killer element and calls the Apple TV+ title a binge-worthy option, pointing to a “stacked cast” and praising Graham’s performance alongside other performers.
