South Korea’s business sentiment rises to a more than four-year high in October, according to a Bank of Korea (BOK) survey. The Composite Business Sentiment Index (CBSI) for all industries reaches 104.2, up from the previous month, with the overall reading showing that optimism outweighs pessimism. Similar gains are reported across manufacturing and nonmanufacturing components.

The BOK attributes the improvement to stronger confidence linked to manufacturing, an improved outlook in nonmanufacturing, and supportive conditions for related upstream sectors. The survey also cites increased investment and production in major industries such as semiconductors, automobiles and shipbuilding, alongside a strengthening won that eases firms’ costs for imported raw materials. Manufacturing sentiment climbs further to its highest level in over four years.

Across outlets provided here, both reports emphasize the same BOK survey result and October-driven improvement, with no materially different claims or framing beyond outlet style and ordering of details.
