Chinese AI chipmaker Iluvatar CoreX has presented its new Tiangai 300 GPU and says it can match or exceed Nvidia’s H200 for real-world AI workloads. The company positioned the announcement as part of a broader push by domestic chipmakers to narrow the technology gap with leading US suppliers.

In a live demonstration for mainland media, Iluvatar CoreX showcased the Tiangai 300 handling complex multimodal tasks such as text-to-image and text-to-video, and presented results intended to support its performance claims against the H200. Separately, Pandaily reports that the GPU’s first live demo included an additional claim based on third-party testing, suggesting throughput of 1.05 times that of the H200 per card. Pandaily notes that the test methodology was not disclosed, leaving details of the comparison unclear.
