Delhi’s Chamber of Trade and Industry (CTI) urges Sonia Gandhi to postpone the Congress Parliamentary Party’s proposed November 1 rally in central Delhi, saying it will disrupt the peak Diwali shopping season. The CTI warns the event could affect trade valued between ₹10,000 crore and ₹12,000 crore across wholesale and retail markets.

Across reports, the rally is described as a “mega rally” at Ramlila Maidan expected to draw around 10 lakh people and tens of thousands of vehicles, raising concerns about traffic, parking, and movement of goods. CTI says it is not opposing the rally itself, but wants it rescheduled to after Diwali—commonly cited as after November 10-11.

Outlets differ mainly in emphasis and added operational detail. NDTV and others highlight options such as shifting the rally to Burari ground and mention vehicle parking capacity there, while some reports stress the scale of buses and congestion at Ramlila Maidan. The overall thrust remains the same: traders seek a later date to avoid business disruption during key festival days.
