Jamaica’s senior women’s team, the Reggae Girlz, draw 0-0 with Panama in the second of two international friendlies at Estadio Rommel Fernandez in Panama City on Tuesday. Jamaica had won the first friendly 1-0 on Friday at the same venue, extending their unbeaten record against Panama to four games overall.
Ahead of Tuesday’s match, the coaching staff makes five changes to the starting line-up. New starters are Nyema Ingelton, Nikaya Small, Paige Bailey-Gayle, Trudi Carter and Natasha Thomas, while goalkeeper Liya Brooks and experienced players Konya Plummer, Allyson Swaby, Deneisha Blackwood and Atlanta Primus are retained.
In the first half, Jamaica receives an opportunity for a penalty after Natasha Thomas is tripped inside Panama’s 18-yard box in the 26th minute. Deneisha Blackwood’s penalty goes off the crossbar. Jamaica continues to press, with Thomas narrowly missing a header in the 38th minute, saved by Panama goalkeeper Yenith Bailey. Late in added time, Konya Plummer has a close-range chance, but Bailey makes the save and blocks the shot for a corner. Both teams finish goalless.
