Christopher Nolan will travel to Mumbai to attend the Indian premiere of his upcoming film, “The Odyssey,” with producer Emma Thomas and actors Matt Damon and Tom Holland. The visit is described as Nolan’s first-ever official premiere in India for one of his films. The screening is scheduled to take place at PVR Icon IMAX at Phoenix Palladium, as part of the movie’s global promotional tour ahead of its worldwide release on July 17. Reports also say Universal Pictures International has selected Mumbai as one of four cities worldwide to host a premiere, alongside London, Paris and New York.
“The Odyssey” is based on Homer’s Greek epic and follows Matt Damon’s character as he journeys back home after the Trojan War. The film’s cast includes Tom Holland, alongside other reported actors such as Anne Hathaway. Multiple outlets also highlight the movie’s technical approach: it is shot across the world using new IMAX film technology and is the first feature film made entirely with IMAX cameras. The group’s planned presence centers on the Mumbai premiere event at the IMAX venue before the July release.
