Retired Ogun State Television (OGTV) broadcaster Mrs. Kitan Oyesiku, popularly known as “Aunty Kitan,” is killed along with her security guard at her residence in Abeokuta, Ogun State. Reports say the incident occurs on Sunday at her home in the Agodo/Kobape area along the Abeokuta–Siun–Sagamu Expressway. Community members, including churchgoers, discover the victims after concerns are raised that Oyesiku does not show up for service. Eyewitness accounts described the attackers entering the compound and first killing the security guard before going into the house. Police later confirm forced entry at the premises. Oyesiku’s body is found inside her apartment, while the guard’s body is found at the security post. Her vehicle is reported missing. The Ogun State Police Command says it has begun an investigation, with the police spokesperson confirming the matter and promising an official statement. The Commissioner of Police orders intensified intelligence and surveillance efforts to identify the perpetrators. Oyesiku, a long-time media figure who had retired from OGTV, is mourned by colleagues, friends, and residents.
