HBO Max releases the full trailer for “Stuart Fails to Save the Universe,” a multiverse sci-fi comedy spin-off of “The Big Bang Theory.” The series premieres July 23 and consists of 10 episodes, with new episodes released weekly on Thursdays. Created by Chuck Lorre, Zak Penn, and Bill Prady, the show follows comic book store owner Stuart Bloom, who is tasked with restoring reality after he breaks a device built by Sheldon and Leonard. His mistake triggers a multiverse crisis described in the trailers as a multiverse Armageddon.
Across the trailer, Stuart is assisted by characters including his girlfriend Denise, a geologist friend named Bert, and quantum physicist Barry Kripke. The series also features alternate-universe versions of familiar “Big Bang Theory” characters, with brief on-screen glimpses that include Christine Baranski as Beverly Hofstadter, Riki Lindhome as Ramona Nowitzki, Larry Fowler/Teller, and Jon Cryer. The cast includes Kevin Sussman as Stuart, along with Lauren Lapkus, Brian Posehn, John Ross Bowie, and others. The trailers emphasize a broader, more sci-fi-leaning direction while maintaining comedic elements tied to the franchise’s fanbase.
