The RSS issues its first detailed response to an alleged theft and embezzlement of donations from donation boxes at the Ram Lalla Temple in Ayodhya. In statements reported by multiple outlets, RSS General Secretary Dattatreya Hosabale says the incident “deeply hurts” the sentiments and reverence of the wider Hindu community and millions of Lord Ram devotees. The RSS calls the matter highly condemnable and urges that anyone found guilty should face strict punishment.
Hosabale also refers to the Shri Ram Janmabhoomi Teerth Kshetra Trust’s request to the Uttar Pradesh government. He says the state has constituted a Special Investigation Team (SIT) and initiated legal proceedings based on the SIT’s recommendations, and he urges decisive steps to reduce “confusion” around the case. The RSS further asks the temple trust to treat the incident as exceptional and improve security, financial management, and operational transparency. It calls for effective systems to ensure public faith in the Ayodhya temple remains undisturbed, and it urges restraint by the community while the investigation proceeds.
