Daryl Berman, 72, is convicted of murdering her husband, David Berman, 84, in their home in Prestwich, Greater Manchester. All reports say David Berman is found with a fatal wound to his chest, and Berman’s account to police is that her husband had stumbled and fallen in the kitchen and landed on a small kitchen knife. According to the outlets, Berman claimed the knife was a “little” blade and that it entered his chest during the alleged fall. The BBC also reports that Berman tells police the husband, who had dementia, tripped and fell onto the knife.
During the trial, the defence argues the death was accidental, consistent with Berman’s explanation of how the injury occurred.
