A 13-year-old boy has died in hospital after a house fire in Blackpool, Lancashire, that investigators believe was started by an e-bike. The blaze happened on Redcar Road at about 9.30am on Tuesday. Two people were injured in the fire: the boy and a 19-year-old man who was pulled from the property. The BBC and other outlets report that the 19-year-old was taken to hospital and remained seriously injured for several days. Police later said the boy died from injuries sustained in the fire, with reports that he died on Sunday. The boy is identified in multiple accounts as Coby Keogh of Blackpool. Lancashire Police say an investigation into the cause is ongoing between police and the fire and rescue service, and there is no indication of third-party involvement. Authorities also prepared for further steps, including a file being prepared for HM Coroner. Reports consistently describe the fire as being believed to be linked to an e-bike, including suggestions that an e-bike charger may have been involved.
