Health news today spans the personal, the public and the political. Liverpool great Sir Kenny Dalglish has revealed he is undergoing cancer treatment after his diagnosis was accidentally exposed online, saying treatment is under way and progressing well. In the Philippines, former public works chief Manuel Bonoan was hospitalized after a hypertensive episode following his arrest, with police later saying his condition had stabilized. In Britain, ministers have ruled out universal prostate cancer screening for now but will expand a trial inviting more Black men, reflecting a more targeted approach to a disease that disproportionately affects that group. There is also accountability after South West Water was hit with a record fine over the cryptosporidium outbreak in Devon that left hundreds ill and forced thousands to boil tap water. And in the United States, Florida is set to carry out another execution in a decades-old child murder case.
