Technology policy is driving much of today’s agenda, as Washington draws sharper lines around who can build with advanced AI and where critical components can come from. The Trump administration has partially reversed its clampdown on Anthropic, allowing its Mythos 5 cybersecurity model back into the hands of a limited circle of “trusted” U.S. partners after new safeguards were negotiated, while keeping tighter restrictions on the related Fable 5 model. At the same time, Apple is reportedly pressing for permission to buy memory chips from blacklisted Chinese supplier CXMT, underscoring how AI-fueled demand and rising semiconductor costs are colliding with national security rules. Beyond regulation and supply chains, the sector also saw a more collaborative note: IIT Bombay and SUNY Old Westbury launched a partnership to expand engineering and AI education, reflecting the longer-term global race to cultivate talent as aggressively as technology itself.
