Rohit Kumar Sharma, known as “Rohit Chaiwala,” founder of the tea café chain “Chaiwalas,” dies by suicide at his residence in Dausa, Rajasthan, on Saturday, August 1. He is reported to be 30 years old. According to accounts from multiple outlets, family members find him hanging inside a room at the home and break open the locked door after discovering him. He is taken to Dausa District Hospital, where doctors declare him dead on arrival. A post-mortem examination is conducted before the body is handed over to his family. Police in Kotwali register a case and investigate the circumstances of the death.
Reports also note that Sharma had reportedly been battling depression for several months and was undergoing treatment, though police have not publicly confirmed the exact cause. Multiple sources add that he shut down his chain’s around seven outlets about six months before his death. In recent years, Sharma increasingly focused on spirituality, including writing books and frequently visiting religious places.
