Maharashtra’s Food and Drug Administration (FDA) and the Navi Mumbai Police jointly raid a Turbhe-based warehouse and seize packaged food products after inspections find alleged tampering of manufacturing and expiry/use-by dates and other label details. Officials say the operation involves erasing original dates and printing new ones, including placing fresh stickers over ingredient and nutritional information before products are repacked and offered for sale.
Outlets report that the raid targets Sadhana Enterprises in Turbhe’s TTC Industrial Area, and the FDA suspends the establishment’s food licence. The crackdown is conducted between August 24 and 29, following which samples and materials are collected from additional sites that officials claim lack proper FSSAI licences or purchase records. Products cited across reports include Maggi noodles and masala, Lay’s chips, Kurkure variants, Fun Flips, and other ready-to-eat/ready-to-cook brands.
On figures, reporting is not fully consistent: several sources cite seizures of about ₹75.21–₹75.52 lakh, while one outlet cites a larger figure of ₹17.52 crore and more cartons. All sources, however, describe the same core allegation—relabeling to enable sale beyond expiry or shelf life—and say an FIR is registered and investigations are ongoing into partners and linked exporters.
