La Caisse, the Canadian pension fund, acquires a 24% stake in India’s independent telecom tower and infrastructure platform, Altius Telecom Infrastructure Trust. Altius says the deal value is about ₹12,100 crore (reported as roughly INR 121 billion), with Financial Post also describing the stake as worth about US$1.3 billion. The transaction is reported as completed as of September 2, 2026.

Altius operates a nationwide network of telecom towers and sites, with the firm stating it manages more than 258,000 infrastructure sites across India. PR Newswire frames the investment as reflecting demand for mobile connectivity and 5G infrastructure, while Free Press Journal highlights La Caisse’s infrastructure and sustainability focus and positions the investment alongside Brookfield and existing institutional shareholders.

Across outlets, Brookfield is described as remaining Altius’s largest investor after the transaction.
