Singapore’s air quality enters the unhealthy range in the central region as haze increases. Multiple outlets report that the 24-hour Pollutant Standards Index (PSI) in central Singapore crosses the 100 mark on Sept 4, reaching around 101.
Air quality is considered unhealthy when the PSI is between 101 and 200. CNA reports the crossing occurs around 7am, while The Straits Times gives a specific reading of 103 in the central part at 8am. The Straits Times and CNA also note that PSI readings elsewhere are lower, with other areas showing 24-hour PSI values in the mid to high 70s.
While the outlets agree on the central-region PSI breaching 100 and entering the unhealthy band, they differ slightly on timing and the exact early-morning figure, reflecting updates at successive check points. CNA also highlights that elsewhere the 24-hour PSI is reported between about 74 and 87 as of 7am.
