Romanian prosecutors formally indict social media influencer Andrew Tate on charges that include trafficking minors and money laundering. Multiple outlets report that prosecutors also allege sex with a minor. In addition, at least one report says witness tampering is among the charges.
At the same time, sources describe Tate and his brother Tristan as being held in Miami, where they are contesting possible extradition. Several outlets say the potential extradition is to the United Kingdom, where both are wanted on separate rape charges. Deutsche Welle adds that Tristan Tate is indicted in Romania for complicity. Other reporting includes prosecutors’ descriptions of how alleged victims were recruited, including claims that they were seduced under false promises of a relationship or marriage.
