HBO is adding new cast members for season 2 of its Harry Potter series, which adapts The Chamber of Secrets. The outlet reports converge on three roles: Tom Riddle (a younger version of Voldemort), Dobby the house-elf, and Ginny Weasley.
Deadline, Variety, and The Hollywood Reporter identify Billy Barratt as young Tom Riddle, Lenny Rush as Dobby, and Bonnie Hill as Ginny Weasley. TVLine and /Film also confirm the same three casting changes, describing them as official additions for the second season. Variety notes Hill is replacing the previous Ginny, Gracie Cochrane. Deadline similarly frames the announcements as the filling of high-profile roles for season 2.
Some coverage emphasizes the character replacements (Ginny being recast) while others focus on the new casting for the Chamber of Secrets adaptation. Across the sources, the consistent angle is that HBO has locked in these three performances as part of its ongoing expansion of the Hogwarts-era ensemble for season 2.
