Indian space technology company Pixxel raises $100 million in a Series C funding round to expand its Earth-observation capabilities. Multiple outlets describe the round as a record-scale investment for an Indian space-tech firm, helping fund additional satellite infrastructure and growth of its data platform.
The funding is led by Temasek, a Singapore state investor, with participation from Seraphim Space Investment Trust, along with other investors including Radical Ventures and growX Ventures, and new participants such as 360 ONE Asset and IMM Investment. Pixxel, founded by Awais Ahmed, previously built its focus around hyperspectral imaging and is now expanding beyond imaging hardware.
While all reports emphasize the new capital’s role in scaling sensing, outlets differ slightly in emphasis: some stress satellite expansion through Pixxel’s Honeybee constellation and high-resolution optical satellites, while others highlight a broader “space data ecosystem” that includes Earth intelligence software (Aurora) and additional components such as sovereign space systems and satellite manufacturing. Across sources, the company’s goal is to translate satellite data into actionable insights for governments and industry.
