The United Arab Emirates says it is taking steps to ensure its energy exports and trade are not disrupted by the ongoing conflict between the United States and Iran. UAE presidential adviser Anwar Gargash says the country is building alternative routes for energy exports and broader economic activity.

Gargash makes the comments as the war escalates risks for Gulf states. The UAE has been affected directly and indirectly, including after Tehran fires missiles at the country and attacks oil tankers in the Strait of Hormuz. In response, the UAE is expanding trade and logistics options, including port capacity on its eastern coast and work on pipelines and alternative trade corridors. Some outlets frame the message as a reassurance of continuity for exports and commerce, emphasizing diversification of routes rather than disruption.
