Nintendo announces Metroid Ravenous, a new 2D Metroid game for the Nintendo Switch 2. Multiple outlets report it debuts on January 28, 2027, following the style and direction of recent entries such as Metroid Dread.
The coverage largely agrees on the release date and that the game is a Switch 2 exclusive. Several sources describe the gameplay as a traditional 2D side-scrolling Metroid experience presented with modern, higher-fidelity visuals, including 3D-like graphics and cinematic action moments.
