Apple has introduced the iPhone Duo, its first foldable smartphone, during its “Surprise and Shine” event in Cupertino. Multiple outlets describe a book-style design with two display panels that expand into a larger screen when opened.

The iPhone Duo is reported to have a 7.6-inch inner display and a 5.4-inch outer/cover display. Several reports also highlight software changes aimed at making the folding form factor more usable, including interface adjustments designed to keep on-screen controls positioned consistently as the device opens and closes. The phone’s screens are described as supporting different orientations depending on use.

Coverage also differs in emphasis. Bloomberg frames the launch as an attempt to help bring foldables into mainstream tastes.
