Former England footballer Raheem Sterling admits he drove dangerously shortly before a crash on the UK motorway network involving a Lamborghini. Multiple outlets report he pleaded guilty to the dangerous driving charge following the incident in May, when the car struck motorway barriers.
BBC and several UK sports and news outlets identify the incident as taking place on the M3 (BBC refers to an M3 crash). Other reports add that Sterling admitted driving on several roads shortly before the crash, including the M25, M3, A327 and Minley Road, and that he appeared at Basingstoke Magistrates’ Court. Alongside the driving plea, outlets agree Sterling also admitted matters connected to drugs. Metro and other reports say he admitted possession of six nitrous oxide canisters (“laughing gas”), and that he also admitted possession of a class C drug and failing to provide a specimen. Police footage described by outlets shows the vehicle crossing lanes without indicating and narrowly avoiding the central reservation. All sources cited state no injuries occurred and no other vehicles were involved.
